Sometimes we experience things in life that change us, change how we feel and how we view the world and we have no idea how to cope with those changes. Maybe you’re trying to get back to “you,” or maybe you’re trying to reinvent yourself. Whatever the reason that brought you here, making the decision to begin healing and improve your mental health is a big step. As your therapist, I don’t take the responsibility of helping you on this journey lightly.
I earned a Masters degree in Social Work, as well as a Trauma Treatment Certification from Michigan State University. I also earned a Bachelors degree in Social Work from Saginaw Valley State University. As a clinical social worker and therapist, I specialize in helping people of color heal from trauma and navigate life transitions and relationship issues. I enjoy providing individual therapy to adults, children and adolescents.
While coping skills are important, I don’t believe in simply teaching you ways to distract you from what you’re feeling. My goal as your therapist is to help you learn how to safely feel and acknowledge your emotions and discover what is causing them.
Whether you’re ready to live your best life, or just trying to figure out what that looks like for you, I’m excited to partner with you on this journey!
